Crystal Springs Golf Course in Burlingame, CA, purchased two Clivus Trailhead restrooms in 2010 and Tim Powers, superintendent, was selected as the national public and overall contest winner in the GSAA/Golf Digest 2011 Environmental Leaders in Golf Awards.
The interview with Powers in the Feb. 2012 issue of Golf Course Management magazine describes his focus on the environment and highlights the Clivus compost restrooms. “What members may like best, according to Powers, are the two Clivus Multrum composting bathrooms. ‘They sure beat Port-O-Lets, and they are much more comfortable and user friendly,’ Powers says.”

Lookaway Golf Club in Buckingham, PA recently made an addition to its course. A custom Clivus Multrum M54 Trailhead will offer golfers comfort on far flung areas of the course.
The composting toilet system and restroom building were delivered pre-fabricated and custom finished with cedar shingle and stacked stone exterior and a cedar shingle roof. The foam-flush toilet fixture offers the comfort of home and a built in solar-powered fan eliminates all odors.
Glenwood Country Club in Old Bridge, New Jersey recently installed a custom M54 Trailhead on its newly renovated course.
In order to harmonize with the aesthetics of the course, stone and clapboard exterior and a metal roof were added to a pre-fabricated structure.
The new composting restroom will offer comfort to golfers at the farthest reaches of the course with a waterless urinal and 6 oz. Foam-flush toilet.

A recent article in the USGA Green Section Record discusses the rising use of composting toilets as on-course restrooms.

Part of the Hershey Golf Collection, Hershey Links is 175 acres of traditional links style golf in Hummelstown, PA. Since it’s opening in 2007 the course has won awards from a number of sources from Golf Magazine to the Zagat Survey.
The new M54 Trailheads are located on the 6th and 14th holes. They were delivered as kits and assembled and appointed on site. Both Foam-flush toilets and waterless urinals are available to ensure golfers’ comfort.
The Course has made arrangements with Clivus Multrum for regular maintenance visits from a local contractor.
