National Sanitation Foundation/ANSI

NSF International, a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization, is the world leader in standards development, product certification, education, and risk-management for public health and safety. Clivus Multrum composting toilets are certified under the NSF/ANSI Standard 41 which applies to waste-treatment systems that do not use a liquid saturated medium for storing and treating human waste. Many communities in the United States require that composting toilets be certified under Standard 41.


U.S. Green Building Council

USGBC is a nonprofit organization committed to a prosperous and sustainable future for our nation through cost-efficient and energy-saving green buildings. Clivus Multrum, Inc. is a member of USGBC, regular attendee of its annual Greenbuild Expo and contributor to Water Efficiency Standards as a member of the Water Efficiency Technical Advisory Group.

Clivus has worked on many Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) projects including the first LEED Platinum building, The Philip Merrill Environmental Center.

Composting toilets are recommended in LEED 2009 standards as Potential Technologies & Strategies for WE Prerequisite 1, WE Credit 2, and WE Credit 3.


General Services Administration

Clivus Multrum has secured a contract with the GSA (Contract # GS-07F-0361V) to provide our kit and prefabricated restrooms at a discounted price to all federal government customers. The GSA contract allows government buyers to streamline their buying process by making their purchases through www.gsaadvantage.gov.

Clivus Multrum is offering both of our popular M54 Trailhead Models under the new GSA contract. Custom additions such as solar panels and cedar or stone exteriors are available at installation or during maintenance.
